I first fell in love with this tulip shaped bodice on Modes Royale pattern 1314 that I sold not too long ago. And then I found this one which is even lovelier than the other! It's a Parade Mail order pattern, "Patterns by Pauline", for a glamorous cocktail/party dress with a full flouncy skirt and choice of sleeveless or short kimono/cut-in-one sleeves. It has a gored circular skirt with a bateau neckline for the contrast top and a deep V cut in back. The tulip-shaped bodice is beautifully fitted with a dropped waist, princess seams, and a sweetheart neckline. Just imagine what a knock-out of a dress this would make, especially with sheer fabric for the contrast top of the bodice. This is an original vintage pattern from the late 50s-early 60s. It comes in its original mailing envelope postmarked 1961, and it has 11 pre-cut pieces, unused and still in factory folds. along with the instructional "foto guide". The pattern number is 1-492 for a vintage size 12, 32 bust, 25 waist, 34 hips. Of course, it can always be adjusted to fit a larger size if needed...Threads Magazine has a wonderful tutorial that shows you how to do so: /item/4368/making-sense-of-pattern-grading I have more vintage patterns up for auction, and if you buy more than one, just pay the first shipping price and all other patterns will ship at no extra cost.
