50's GRAY Research AM-50 50W TUBE AUDIO AMP & PREAMP

Here's a really nice GRAY Research & Development Co., Inc., Manchester, Conn., U.S.A., Model AM-50 Audio Power Amplifier and matching Gray Model AM-2A Tube Preamplifier that's in wonderful condition and working. The AMP employs an Ultra-Linear Output Transformer, is rated at 50 Watts, uses 2 - 6CA7/EL-34's, 1 GZ34/5AR4 and 1 - 12AX7/ECC83, and the Preamp uses 2 - ECC83/12AX7's. There are no weak or marginal tubes as checked on my Hickok 539B, and the 6CA7's in the AMP and 12AX7's in the Preamp appear to be electrically matched. The AMP has a Hum Bal, Audio Input, 8/16 Ohm Speaker Output, 120 VAC Switched and Unswitched Sockets and an Audio Input Level Control. The 8-Pin Octal Plug on the AMP powers the Preamp and has 400 VDC, 70 VDC, AC Switch On/Off, 6.3 VAC, -35 VDC from Hum Bal Pot, Ground, and powers a #47 Lamp for remote On/Off indication. The AMP can be a stand alone unit and operate independently with any other tube preamp, solid-state preamp, or other adequate audio source, and the Audio Input Level Control on the AMP will facilitate any level of input. The Preamp has an Input Selector for TV, Tape, Radio, AES, RIAA, 800 and LP, Roll-Off Control for LP, RIAA, AES, LON, ffrr and 78. There's also a Bass, Treble and Volume On/Off Control, and a On/Off Indicator Lite. The back panel has Inputs for Radio, Phono, Tape IN/Out and TV. There's also a control for Phono Level and Hum Bal, and both tubes are a pair of matched JAN-12AX7's. This set-up is a nice combination for superior warm and transparent audio that only tubes can provide! The AMP design is similar to the Dynaco MK II and Marantz Model 5, but is a much more scarce and desirable AMP to find, and especially in such superb condition! If you're into Vintage Tube Audio, this is a must have AMP! It comes with a diagram of the Octal Socket showing pin-outs and voltages. Thanks for looking! NO RESERVE
