50's SEGUSO Murano Lime Mellon Bowl, CORROSO

2 1/4 " tall, by 6 1/4 " wide, Archimede Seguso , Mura no, Italian, lime green, Venetian bowl. Circa 1950's. Outside of bowl (bottom): note the deep cut design resulting in the outside to be divided into eight sections. Rim is fluted, consistent with the mellon effect. Note the Corroso finish on the bowl. According to Franco Deboni, MURANO 900', page 346, Corroso glass has a surface that is irregular to the touch due to the use of chemical agents. This is due to an acid treatment to the surface. Deboni goes on to discuss this process in great length. Picture # 3 is looking into the bowl. Pictures # 4 & 5 are taken of the outside of the bowl. The last picture is taken up close to demonstrate the Corroso finish. No glass damage...chips, scratches, repairs. Weight of this bowl is slightly under 3 # If you have any other questions about its condition. i.e., any specifics that helps your decision to bid, please ask before you bid . Please note my policy on insurance and postage . Also I do not share reserves, sorry. MY RETURN POLICY: If I fail to describe significant "after factory" damage that is not shown in the picture I will accept returns and refund your money. However, I must hear from you within 3 days of your receipt of the glass. However, manufacturing flaws, bubble bursts, asymmetry, debris (ash) within the glass, artistic variation, dirt are not "after factory" damage. I will do my best to note flaws, etc., but cannot always guarantee that I will see them. Remember this glass is hand blown and is not "perfect" and it is old. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE, PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID. ALSO: Insurance is required on all purchases and is for for YOUR protection. Thus if t is damage, keep the box and wrappings and I will forward the insurance paper work to YOU. Although I double pack the glass items, things can happen. I cannot collect the insurance on my end since all the evidence is with you. NOTE WELL: IF YOU WANT TO TRACE THE PACKAGE YOU MUST BUY DELIVERY CONFIRMATION ($. 55), BECAUSE THE INSURANCE RECEIPT WILL NOT TRACE THE PACKAGE. I have over 1000 pieces of Murano glass and will be slowly listing them on ebay, so if you collect Murano, check my listings regularly. Please note: All items purchased require full insurance, for your protection and mine. Please do not send payment without insurance as an additonal paypal fee will be charged to me, if you have to send a separate payment for the insurance, you forgot to pay the first time. Payment is required within 10 days of auction ending unless other arrangements are mutually agreed upon. To get an approximate idea of postage, add 1.5 # for double packing to the weight of the item or 4.5 # altogether, and go to the website and see the domestic rates or international rates. My zipcode is 91710. Use the small package choice. If you are outside the USA then you need to check the International postage rates. I have packed and mailed hundereds of pieces of glass nationally and internationally and have only had 5 pieces arrived broken. Thus, I think I can safely pack glass. But, if you have special requirements to pack your glass: double boxes, double layer of peanuts, etc., I am happy to do it, but t is likely to be an extra packing charge. Please DO NOT send payment until I have calculated the actual postage and notified you of the final packaged postage and insurance. If you send payment before I have sent you the correct postage and your payment is wrong, paypal will charge another transaction fee when you have to make another payment. Thank you for looking.
