50TH NEW YORK ENGINEERS LETTER 4 pages, 5 x 8, in ink, on imprinted regimental letter sheet, with engineer corps insignia and 50th Regt. New York Vol. Engineers, Co. E, Captain O.E. Hine above and below the vignette. Comes with matching envelope addressed to Miss Huldah Lunn, Windham, Bradford Co., Pa., C.D.S., Washington, D.C., Mar. 28/64. The stamp has been cut off. Head Quarters Det.[achment] Eng.[ineers], Hazel River, Va., March 27/64 Sister Huldah, It is with pleasure I sit down to write you a few lines and hope they may find you all enjoying good health. Well Huldah I don't know but you think hard of me for not writing to you more often than what I have. Well I don't know as it is hardly fair, but I have been rather busy this spring and the better part of winter and I have neglected writing on that account. It is not because I have had no disposition to write. No, I always like to write to any of our folks when I have a chance. You may want to know what I have had to keep me busy. Well I have carried the mail and worked in the shop and had the Captain's horses to take care of most of the time so you see I have been some what busy but I don't know as that excuses me from writing to you a letter, but Huldah, as you hear from me in the boys letters, I don't think you had ought to expect me to write very often.
