This is a Weber B-52 G/H Pilots Ejection seat, seat bottom. It measures 20x16x11. It weighs about 15 lbs. This seat bottom was attached to the to the pilots parachute pack, and ejected with him. The seat bottom (made of fiberglass) has two compartments to carry the survival gear (like a couple of rubles, some nylon stockings, and some chocolate, and some smokes?) As far as the condition: The fabric covering the seat cushion is worn. Two cushion snaps missing. Front cushion zipper broken. The cushions are soft and plyabel. The fiberglass bottom is in great shape, no holes, full stringth. The box cover release cable and latches all work. This item came from the 416 Bomb Wing, Griffis AFB, NY. Although the Wing was short lived (1963 - 1995) it played a major role in the Cold War and flew countless missions over Viet Nam. Who ever sat in this seat was a very brave man.
