This is an old and unique Tibetan hand painted Tangka, Thangka Bodhisattva Manjushri. absolutely unique Tangka painting, don't miss chance to get it!

Manjushri (gentle glorious-one; Jampal in Tibetan) with his right hand brandishes a flaming sword, which cuts through ignorance, and with his left carries the book of wisdom, generally resting on a lotus flower. The book is the Prajnaparamita, the fundamental Mahayana treatise on transcendent wisdom. In its customary form, the manuscript is held between flat pieces of wood and the book appears as a long, narrow oblong. According to legend, Manjushri found a great lake surrounded by mountains in what is now the Kathmandu valley. With a great blow of his sword, he opened a gateway through the mountains, through which the waters rushed, thus draining the lake and creating what came to be Nepal. He is the first Bodhisattva to have been mentioned in early Buddhist texts.

"Thangka" or "Tangka", Tibetan transliteration, it is a traditional Tibetan painting of a Buddha, Buddhist deity, or a Mandela worshiped im monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism.The Main parts of Thangka are base on the images and stories of Buddhas while if also contains some historical legends. Thangkas are framed in rich, colorful, silk brocades and are considered religious objects, not simply decorations. Such religious works of art function as models on which mediators can reflect, identifying and developing within themselves the qualities such as wisdom and compassion that are embodied in the painting. It can be viewed as a religious or Buddhist encyclopedia. Thangka painting is strictly governed by iconographic rules and with complicated process. An excellent thangka generally needs sixty days to process and won't be matted for hundreds of years. Traditionally, thangkas were created on commissions from religious devotees. In Tibet, thangkas are frequently the center of Buddhist religious ceremonies. They have served this important role for over a thousand years. The techniques used to create them are rooted deep in the history of Tibet ,This beautiful type of art is also admired by the common people of Tibetan who like to use it to adorn their rooms for the purpose of keeping evil spirits away!
