This sp is extremely rare this size measuring 54mm (2 1/8") weighs 12 ounces and comes with the stand seen in the picture. PLEASE NOTE: Lepidolite of this high quality is VERY RARE in Sp form and will not have the shinny smooth surface you are use to. It is a granular material that will have a rough finish as well as being dull. But the deep purple and violet color, as well as the mica in it, makes it sparkle at every turn. This is a really great addition to a sp collector looking for the unusual or rare. The item pictured will be the one you will receive = Guaranteed NOT TO SUBSTITUTE..!! Color is violet to pale pink or white and rarely gray or yellow. Lepidolite is an ore of lithium and forms in granite masses that contain a substantial amount of lithium. The lithium content in Lepidolite does vary greatly however and low lithium Lepidolite is nearly useless as an ore of lithium. The typical violet to pink color of Lepidolite is characteristic and is the only field test available to identify Lepidolite from other micas. Pink Muscovite or very pale Lepidolite may confuse identification. Hardness is 2.5. Notable Occurrences include Brazil; Ural Mountains, Russia; several African localities and California, USA.
