1955 Green Keys Smith-Corona Silent-Super Typewriter & Case Cosmetically and mechanically in excellent condition . The mechanics of this typewriter are exceptionally clean. Each character strikes perfectly, the carriage and paper roller move smoothly, the bell dings with its unmistakable charm, and it is ready to serve your literary endeavors with dedication! The Silent Super was perhaps Smith Corona's best all-mechanical typewriter - and for good reason! While the typewriter itself was portable, it featured functionality akin to a bigger, heavier desktop machine. Originally purchased in 1955, the "World's First, Fastest, Finest Portable Typewriter” sold for $139. That's $1,141.04 in today's dollars! It’s the laptop of the day for 1955! There are a few very small scuffs or nicks that are only visible upon close inspection. There is very minor paint loss on the back, where the typewriter latches into the case. Otherwise, this machine looks and works like brand new. Includes the original hard carrying case, which is also in great condition. It's the "Holiday" carrying case, which allows you to easily push one button to unlock the typewriter from the case. The case is a medium brown with handle and sturdy snap closure.
