551ST TRANSPORTATION SQUADRON PATCH This is a rare patch from the 551st Transportation Squadron (motor pool), a unit of the 551st Airborne Early Warning & Control Wing based at Otis Air Force Base, Cape Cod, Mass., during the 1950s and 1960s. This squadron was responsible for providing and servicing ground transportation vehicles assigned to the 551st AEW&C, whose mission was the air defense of the U.S. Eastern Seaboard during the Cold War. The patch measures just under 3 3/4 x 4 inches. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
