If you’re the avid collector that likes things that none of your other collector friends have you want to make sure you look at this. You are bidding on a hand painted porcelain lighted building from Department 56’s Legendary Ballpark series a part of Christmas in the City called Wrigley Field. This façade is a replica of the home of the Chicago Cubs from the famous red sign to the ticket offices to the flags flying on the roof. What makes this so unique is that this is an artist proof, pre-production sample. It was purchased right off of a display in a Department 56 showroom w it was used to take orders from retailers. The back of this façade is bland and does not have the copy the comes with the finished product. Also, the bottom does not have the usual Department 56 back stamp but a tag from the manufacturer in China. A real one of a kind. The building itself is in good condition with no signs of any chips, cracks or repairs. It was originally introduced in 2001, retired in 2005 and is style number 58933. It comes with a light cord and bulb as well as the Styrofoam packing but t is no outer sleeve because the showrooms did not receive them. The cost to ship this is $13.69, which includes insurance.Whether you are a fanatical Cubs fan, collect Major League ballparks or collect Christmas in the City and do not have Wrigley Fields read more
