Gilberton published a set of s 77 different Junior Classics. Every title had reprint editions except the very last title called THE RUNAWAY DUMPLING. Some titles had as many as eleven editions. Even Dan Malan's COMPLETE GUIDE TO CLASSIC COLLECTIBLES added a few editions that I have never seen, and missed a few editions and variations in compiling a list of titles and editions. Original editions usually are a bit more expensive than the reprint editions for the obvious reasons, but, like the regular Classic Comics/Illustrated, some editions and some titles are more expensive either because of their popularity or their scarcity. Numbers 501, 503, 557, and 558 have back cover ads for the rare Robert Q. Lewis Junior record. The reprints have the same panels and the same amount of pages as the originals. Editions can be identified like the Classics Illustrated Series by listing the HRN usually found on the back cover AND the date of publishing. The first twenty originals do not have HRN's but rather painted pictures on the back cover. These Junior Classics are always difficult to find in high grade because they were usually given to children to read, connect-the-dots, and color. A new series of Junior Classics reprints commemorating the fifty year anniversary of Classic Juniors is now being published by Jack Lake in Canada. THE DOLL PRINCESS read more
