57 Big Band Swing Autographs Valencia Ballroom York '39 For Sale today: One 1939 Tenth Anniversay book of the Valencia Ballroom in York Pennsylvania. This book contains 57 autographs of bandleaders and musicians of the time. T are 9 individual signatures of bandleaders on their biographical pages in the book. Jimmy Dorsey Tommy Dorsey Eddy Duchin Benny Goodman Glen Gray Kay Kyser Jackson Teagarden Bernie Cummings Jan Garber In the back Autograph section t is one page dated Sptember 15, 1939,that contains 16 signatures of the 'Glen Gray and the Casa Loma Orchestra'. (including Glen Gray) On the second Autograph page is the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra dating from Sptember 22, 1939 with 18 signatures (including Tommy Dorsey). T is one band photo of the Kay Kyser Orchestra that shows 14 signatures. This photo is affixed to the rear cover and was not part of the original book. For each of the 14 signatures (including Kay Kyser) an ink line points to the photo to indicate which band member the autograph belongs to in the photo. The signatures are mainly in ink, Kay Kyser is in pencil. The individual page signatures are in very good condition, some of the band signatures on the autograph pages show light fading of the ink. All Kay Kyser Orchestra signatures are strong in dark ink and in very good condition. The 10th Anniversary book read more
