This charming set consists of 6 Antique German Snowbabies with white snow. Acquired from an estate, all in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks, the set includes: Polar Bear 5/8" high x 1-1/2" long, marked "GERMANY" beneath front paw (see photo). Black eyes, nose, mouth. Snow in excellent condition. Similar to figure 16.17-b in Mary Morrison, Snow Babies, Santas and Elves (1993); also to bears pictured in fig. 178 in Florence Theriault, Hertwig and Co. Archives 1890-1937 . (2000), p. 74; and 16.13 in Mary Morrison's Big Book of Snow Babies ( 2003 ), p. 183. Boy lying down on sled/toboggan 1-1/2 high x 1-3/4" long; no visible mark. Brown eyebrows and hair, lavender pants, black shoes. Similar to figure 10.103 in Mary Morrison, Snow Babies, Santas and Elves (1993), p. 71; and 10.165 in Mary Morrison's Big Book of Snow Babies ( 2003 ), p. 111. Boy sitting up on sled/toboggan 1-1/2 high x 1" long; no visible mark. Brown eyebrows, orange pants, black shoes.
