This auction is for: CARVED IVORY CHINESE BOAT WITH MOVING PARTS. 6" long x 3" high (with attached stand, it is 3.5" high). This has 6 sets of hinged double doors that open, several people inside, outside, sitting on top and two steering the boat. It has two smoke stacks and a large flag and has a rudder. Look at the close-up to see the high quality and intricate carving on this. It is permanently mounted on a carved wooden base. It looks to be in perfect shape. This is part of an 81 year old gentleman's estate ivory collection that I am in the process of purchasing (a little at a time as wife is quite overwhelmed). He had notes with most all of his items. His note said this ivory was early 1900s, bought in 1963 from an antique shop near his hometown (he was originally from Attica NY) and paid $68 for it. I admit to speculating on this ivory collection as I know little to nothing about ivory. Look at the close-up photos for carved details. Contact me with your questions and comments.
