This magnificent set was hand made in Italy and is made of matched burl walnut and rosewood banding. Each piece has a hand carved full relief figure - including performing musicians. All the mirrors are beveled, and the hardware is aluminum and bakelite. The finish is original and in gorgeous condition in a warm golden brown that brings out the beautiful grain of the wood. The spectacular and dramatic design is particularly amazing. It consists of a bed that fits a standard Queen size mattress. The headboard is 67" wide, 60" tall, and 3" deep. The foot board includes a musician playing panpipes. It is 38" tall, and is 8" deep. The two night stands are a right and left matched pair with a shelf on top, a book shelf to the side, and a carved figure. They are 32" tall, 19" wide, and 19" deep. The dressing table has a swivel beveled mirror and is 52" wide, 19" deep, and 67" tall. The wardrobe has three doors with a singer in the middle holding a sheet of music. It is 88" tall, 29" deep, and 78" wide. The dresser is 55" by 27" and is 80" tall. The set has had only minor restorations over the years. The panels are all in quarter matched walnut burl and the banding is matched rosewood. Everything fits well, opens and closes smoothly, and in great condition. The drawers have dove tailed solid wood sides, and the tops are all over an inch thick. This glorious set was built to heroic standards of quality and epitomizes Italian Art Deco design from the 1920's.
