His beautiful leather work and ingenious designs were very limited in availability--you could only get them directly from Jerry in London, or, more recently, from his partner Craig Dickson in NY. Even at that, they were very exclusive and very limited, always in short supply. He was always meticulous in selecting the leather he used, the hardware; making sure that the orientation of the wallet was correct when opened; and searching the world for only the best leathers and supplies. Jerry wasn't a magician who decided to design a wallet, he was a master leather craftsman who spent his life honing his craft, specializing in designer products, and then became a magician. Jerry loved magic and became well known in the close-up area winning the British Close-up Championship. With a great love and knowledge of magic and seeing what was available, he knew he could improve greatly on the wallets he saw in magic shops, and then proceeded to design products that not only functioned as wonderful magic props, but had the functionality to be used everyday in the normal world. He was never satisfied with the status quo, and the JOL designer line is the result of decades of refinement, and improvements to what already were revered to be the finest wallets in the world.
