An attractive group of 6 various Christofle silver plated Marly Pattern items in wonderful condition Marly is considered the most intricately decorated model in the Christofle collection, it conveys the richness and refinement of a French-style table. The plant ornamentation, typical of the Rocaille style that appeared during the reign of Louis XV, illustrates the silversmith's know-how and concern for detail through its fine chasing. On offer is this group consisting of six various matching Christofle items: four two-pronged forks and two butter knives. All objects are in excellent condition, without traces of wear and use, as new. The items are all executed in the well known Marly pattern. All items are marked with the factory's marks: a knight chess piece flanked by the letters 'O.C,' (Orfevrerie Christofle) and 'Christofle - France' This group consists of : four two-pronged forks, used for shellfish, snails, and hors-d'oeuvre, measuring 17,2 cm (6,75 inches) long a pair of butter knives, measuring 18 cm (7 1/8 inches) long This fine group will certainly make a superb addition to any collection of European tableware and cutlery.Please view my other auctions for matching Marly pattern Christofle tableware of the same provenance.
