's a very nice lot of 6 AUTOPOINT mechanical pencils, mostly ad, but not all, plus 2 others, similar. Typical of AUTOPOINT, these all work. Vintage ranges from the late '20s to I think probably the '60s (last piece). They are as follows, left to right and top to bottom: Thick faceted barrel, brown w/ black tip. Ad for MARSHALL ELEVATOR CO. & MARSHALL ELECTRONIC DIV. This has a very thick eraser end and may have not had an eraser cap. For reference on the remaining pencils, this pencil measures 5-11/16." 1.1mm lead. Thinner black with long thin clip and goldtone trim. Eraser & extra lead is present. Eraser cap has a goldtone tip. .9mm red lead. EARLIEST OF THE LOT, late '20s. I could be wrong, but I think this is actually a hard rubber pencil. Thick red brown speckled faceted barrel. Nickel trim with large tip and eraser cap. Original riveted clip is broken and gone.. slip clip by LISTO in place. Wear to the plating.. very weak ad for COLONIAL OIL COMPANY of GRAND RAPIDS. MICH. 1.1mm lead. Standard black pencil with BELL SYSTEM notation. 1.1mm lead. Another early pencil with same features as #3, but much thinner barrel, better plating condition and full riveted clip. This is an open end eraser style and needs a new eraser to be complete. No visible ad.. .. circa late '20s. 1.1mm lead. BROWN and BLACK outstanding faceted barrel, eraser read more
