This listing is for a very large collection of over 600 world war 2 era (1943-1945 ONLY) Navy Recognition GLASS Photo Slides and associated Navy Books. All of these were found together, stored away for decades. I have never seen such a large and complete collection from this specific era. Included are some of the very first ones ever produced as the navy only decided to create this program in 1943. The program was designed to cut down on the number of friendly fire incidences that plagued our pilots and seamen for years. Each slide is dated indicating the date of issue. Occasionally, a new slide would come out to replace a "dated one" to keep the pilots up to date. Images include all kinds of angles including sihouettes and views from directly above. I m sure a number of these images are of ships that were sunk during the war. (Just so you know I did not remove even one single slide from this collection so it is about as random as can be (some are probably quite rare or have significant importance). The images are of Japanese, British and American Planes and Ships. There is only one German ship in the entire group, but remember, by 1943, Germany was pretty much down to just U-Boat Submarines.
