You are bidding on a Danish / Scandinavian Mid Century Modern design icon it is a sculptured art glass wall lamp by Svend Aage Holm Sorensen for Holm Sorensen Denmark it retains 2 labels one on the glass, and 1 on the wall bracket Holm Sorensen & Co Denmark in our personal opinion, it is maybe something we should have sent to a major auction house ...rather than ebay it...??? but I guess we'll see won't we ! we bought it from a dealer at a Modernism show 4 years ago it has been proudly displayed on our living room wall ever since but recently we erected a huge shelving unit on the wall this hung on, so now we have no room for it when we purchased it, it had already been rewired for USA use , and the dealer we bought it from coated the wire and the porcelain socket with a clear silicone we have no idea why, but its totally safe , and of course this is on the inside of the wall mount bracket so it is never viewed ; we just left it as purchased the bracket and the glass sculpture are in superb condition the GLASS is PERFECT with NO DAMAGE the metal bracket mounts to the wall at the hole on the back ( you screw mount it) the glass portion locks inside of the bracket slots via the 4 chrome knobs permanently fused into the glass it is large, (but not too large!) & measures: 16 3/4" long , 5 1/4" wide and stands out from wall 5" the glass pieces are about 1 1/4" wide and 5/8" thick (this is a HEAVY art glass sculpture) for the images, we have it displayed against white paper , onto a drafting table (!!) , so we wouldn't have to put any holes in our walls to show you the listing ofcourse it looks MUCH more imressive on the wall, but you will get the gist very fair reserve is WAY less than it would be estimated for at a major auction house the book we show this from is a 1967 issue of Design from Scandinavia buyer pays insured shipping we charge exact post , no handling fees , and all fresh packaging supplies are on us no paypal Thanks for Looking At this time WE SHIP TO THE U.S.A ONLY THE long but worth reading list of SMALL PRINT new ebay rules went into effect as of FEB 2OTH , 2008 & a LOT of HONEST SELLERS like us are going to suffer it out at the mercy of non serious bidders those little stars they ask you click ...well those are important as to our seller rating .....and if you play with them incorrectly ...they harm our excellent reputation that we strived so hard to obtain and retain 2 of those ratings are affiliated with things that WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER #1 being shipping costs..... and # 2 being shipping time (which is controlled by you ....not us ) and why is that? well : we accept checks and money orders WE are on the ball at OUR end items paid for with a money order are shipped within 24 hours of deposit, unless its a weekend items paid for with a check : all checks are held 10 days after the day we deposit them ..... so ...if you decide to take 9 days to pay us (when in fact a payment could get from Australia quicker than that !) , it takes a day or 2 to deposit the check , & 10 days to clear it & another 5-7 days for the post office it to get it to you (that adds up to 28 days from start to finish ....if you delay to pay ...... ) so ...... ......
