We have been given a lot of estate vintage modernist jewelry to sell and we don't usually list much jewelry so chances are good you may find a real prize ....& its worth checking back you are bidding on a GIGANTIC brass or bronze (depending on what website I search !) and stone MODERN ABSTRACT SCULPTURAL RING by internationally reknown Hungarian/ Mexican artist PAL KEPENYES (if you are not familiar , hunt google and you will find lots of info including a gallery that currently has 3 of his small sculptures listed between 7,000 and 18,000 dollars apiece) is a blurb from another site on google: "The strikingly unique art of Kepenyes has been collected by such celebrities as Bob Hope, Robin Leach and Robert Stack." He was born in Kondoros, Hungary, and began exhibiting in Budapest in 1946. His work had been shown in Paris, London, Berlin, Canada, the United States and Mexico, w he now lives. His work in museum and private collections throughout the world. " In his miniatures or in his monumental work, he expresses the drama of the man of today: anguish, loneliness in company, desire and/or erotic experiences, trauma, myths, conscience, self-consciousness, wonder and the marvelous...ad infinitum, and all in continuous dimensions." this ring weighs about 38 grams and sports a large polished pale pink stone the metal is brass and if you look close along the setting, you can see nice accents in red and even a hint of verdigris on one side t is a ring that dangles freely as shown ring finger size is 6 1/2 the ring itself is 2" long, 1 3/4" wide and stands up about 3/4" off the finger the only thing we can find to mention is an internal line in the stone this cannot be felt , so we do not believe it to be after damage , but nonetheless we must mention it I would value this ring at a minimum of 500 -600 dollars, but at a website specializing in designer art or jewelry ... ...it would be way more........ actually I just found a smaller ring by him at a website for 950.....which we show a print out of this is a show stopper ! our images will do no justice ....I wanted to shoot this out in natural light, but poor weather prevented that you will be thrilled when you receive it might I add, this IS comfortable to wear, but then again, I am used to wearing very large pieces in fact .... is a chuckle....someone asked me just the other day if I owned any pieces of jewelry that wouldn't double as a weapon (that was a worth sharing commentary !) its too big for my pinky and too small for my ring finger....( I can't have it sized due to the placement of signature) otherwise it would not be for sale today ! please note: because none of this jewelry belongs to us , we are not taking the liberty of polishing any of it ....that will be up to the new owner buyer pays insured post ....we DO NOT accept Paypal p.s once we get this collection sold and paid for , I will be listing over 90 pieces of my own ...its all sorted , boxed , priced and ready to go ..... At this time WE SHIP TO THE U.S.A ONLY ring shown at website for 950 and ours is EARLIER (ours does not have the later Mexico word on it) THE LONG but worth reading list of SMALL PRINT new ebay rules went into effect as of FEB 2OTH , 2008 & a LOT of HONEST SELLERS like us are going to suffer it out at the mercy of non serious bidders those little stars they ask you click ...well those are important as to our seller rating .....and if you play with them incorrectly ...they harm our excellent reputation that we strived so hard to obtain and retain 2 of those ratings are affiliated with things that WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER #1 being shipping costs..... and # 2 being shipping time (which is controlled by you ....not us ) and why is that? well : we accept checks and money orders WE are on the ball at OUR end items paid for with a money order are shipped within 24 hours of deposit, unless its a weekend items paid for wit...
