A Happy Father's Day to all. You are bidding on an Official Joe Cronin American League ball, signed by 21 members of a game between the Minnesota Twins, and the Kansas City A's , from the 1964 season. Like most of the team signed balls of this era, it shows some game use. Owners didn't part with the orbs, as readily as they do today. And aside from the players in the game, this ball features nice signatures from HOFer, Pee Wee Reese, who was calling the Game of the Week, for CBS radio, and by '30s Yankee, Babe Dahlgren, who replaced Lou Gehrig, to end his streak. Babe was an A's coach, that year. The other HOFer on this ball is Harmon Killebrew, as well as some difficult to obtain signatures. They are all great chestnuts from this golden age. is the roster, by panel; On the sweet spot: Mel McGaha, Zoillo Versalles; Rocky Colavito, Harmon Killebrew, Harvey Haddix, JimPerry, Jim Gentile; Bud Bloomfield, Joe McCabe, Moe Drabowsky; Lee Stange, Rich Rollins, Sam Mele, Hal Naragon, Babe Dahlgren; Earl Battey, Dick Stigman, Camillo Pascual, Bo Belinsky, Ricardo Joseph, and Pee Wee Reese . Most of the signatures are still pretty strong, some a tad light, and ink has turned on a few, but all very readible, and what a slate of names. A nice ball from a time when it was still a game.
