This is a wonderful service for 12 set of sterling silver flatware that is in almost unused condition and has a great secondary value for scrap/bullion.This is the MARHTA WASHINGTON pattern of sterling made by the Frank W.Whiting Co.,a division of Towle Silversmiths patented in 1923. This service for 12 has 64 pieces including the following Quantity//title//weight//size items: 12 Dinner knives 762g /24.48 oz (est 7+ oz pure) 8.75" 12 Dinner forks 459g/14.75 oz (13.64 oz pure) 7.1" 12 Teaspoons 299g/ 9.61 oz ( 8.89 oz pure) 5.9" 12 Bouillon Spoons 265g/ 8.52 oz ( 7.88 oz pure) 5.6" 12 Indiv.Butters 199g/ 6.40 oz ( 5.91 oz pure) 5.4" 3 Serving spoons 139g/ 4.47 oz ( 4.13 oz pure) 8.1" 1 Lg.Berry spoon 93g/ 2.99 oz ( 2.76 oz pure) 8.9" These pieces are in excellent almost unused condition with minor surface scratching from handling / storage without using fitted felt bags. The pieces are not dented. The knifes have almost unused condition silver plated blades and no noticable handle dents. All pieces have a shown monogram "M or W or?" that as decorative in itself. This set has about 54 ounces of sterling, considering knifes at 7 ounces of sterling for the 12 knifes/handles.This would be about 50 ounces of pure silver if scrapped as bullion. These are marked with the Frank W.Smith trademark (except the knifes) and STERLING (all pieces). This pattern is easily matched to expand as desired. The design is of early traditional form and feel good because of the heavy weight of the pieces. This great set of vintage sterling silver flatware would be the perfect accent for your dinner setting and displays beautifully. This item will weigh about 9 1/2 pounds packed.I charge $2.65 for packing/handling which includes US delivery confirmation.Insurance is optional, but recommended.I pack well (see my feedback). If item is received damaged, claims must be filed by you through your Postal office if insured. If not insured your only recourse is to make a formal complaint to 1 800 ASK USPS (Be sure to get a file number).I don't use UPS.T is no reserve. If you have any questions, ask before bidding.Thank you for looking.
