Yes, you guessed it. In a previous life, these lights were a 12 inch diameter Red LED Traffic Light -- the kind you see in BIG stop lights. They have 650 of the same ultra bright LEDs and the same red spectrum wavelength of 600-650 nm as the more expensive "grow lights". They are used government surplus and were pulled from service with less than half of its rated life (100,000 hrs) used, which means they should have over 50,000 hrs of life left. All LEDs work and are VERY bright. They are in very good condition although the lenses have minor scuffs (which doesn't effect the light quality at all) and the cases show minor signs of wear. They come wired with spade lugs on the power cord so they can easily be direct wired or modified with a standard 120V plug (not included) to run off regular household current . They do not need ballast. They do not need an inverter (unless you are going to run one in your car). In addition to grow lights, people who have purchased these lights in the past from us have told us they are using them for: MOOD LIGHTING FOR RESTAURANT, PARTY ROOM, FAMILY ROOM, DECK, YARD - instant Urban Redecorating! REAL BIG TAIL LIGHTS / DOLE LIGHT replacement. Now that would get some attention!!! (It would have to be run with a cheap inverter).
