English Silver Inlaid Flintlock Pistol, ca, 1775

Round tapered 3-stage 2 1/4" screw-off cannon barrel. Underside of breech stamped with clear London view and proof marks. Barrel and breech marked Ã,Â"1" where they join, probably for assembly purposes. Boxlock action with engraved decoration and obscured makerÃ,Â's ribbon. Sliding trigger guard safety. One piece walnut grip profusely decorated with inlaid silver wire. Very minor silver loss. Metal generally smooth with some wear to engraving. Mechanically very good, with strong mainspring. Overall length 7 1/2".
