Lot 673: EDOUARD CORTES OIL PAINTING PARIS FLOWER VENDOR - Oil on canvas painting by Edouard Cortes depicting flower vendors, horse carriage, autos and figures. Measures 18` by 13` tall. Framed measurement is 23 3/4` wide by 18 3/4` tall. Condition is very good. Not relined. No apparent inpainting. Signed lower right. Edouard Cortes. Le Borie Galleries, Chicago Illinois gallery label on reverse. High resolution digital images are available on our web site. Edouard Cortex (1882-1969) French. Active member of the prestigious Societe des Artistes Francais, Cortes exhibited his works yearly in Paris at the Society??s salon as well as at the Salon des Independants, and the Salon de l??Hiver. The enchantment Cort??s felt for Paris, the `City of Lights` is the inspiration for his paintings.
