The most prominent items in the royal regalia were the so-called 'crook' (heka), actually a scepter symbolizing 'government' and 'protection', and the 'flail' or 'flabellum' (nekhakha), which may have derived originally from a fly whisk. The flail is a symbol of power and authority. Together they exclaim that the pharaoh is 'all powerful' and the 'protector of the people'. Made of cold cast designer resin.
