69pc Sterling Federal Cotillion Flatware Frank Smith Presented is a 69-piece set of sterling silver flatware by the Frank Smith Silversmiths. The pattern of this set is called Federal Cotillion or Edward VII and was first produced in 1901. About half of the pieces have a monogram of the letter V or perhaps U in Gothic script. On the reverse side of each handle is the old Towle hallmark and the word Sterling. This set includes: 12 Knives: 8 5/8 inches long. (6 with monogram) 1 Dinner Forks: 8 1/2 inches long. 11 Luncheon Forks: 7 inches long. (6 with monogram) 12 Salad Forks: 5 3/4 inches long (6 with monogram) 9 Teaspoons: 5 3/4 inches long. (6 with monogram) 11 Soupspoons: 5 1/2 inches long (5 with monogram) 13 Butter Knives: 5 5/8 inches long. (7 with monogram) The condition of this set is very good. T is only minor surface wear commensurate with age and light use, the pieces could use a good polishing. 11 of the 12 knives have silverplated blades. The silver plating has some minor wear on the high points such as the edges or the high points of the collar . The overall condition is good and all the blades are usable. T are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals, no repairs and no other problems of any kind. This flatware set comes complete in a felt-lined wooden box. This handsome box will prevent any tarnishing. The box is included as a free gift.
