7 1/2" MORIMURA NIPPON VASE - EARLY 1900s - BEADING

for auction is a beautiful vintage 1900s NIPPON VASE with the green mark "Morimura M in wreath" and "Hand Painted Nippon" around that. It measures approximately 7 1/2" high with octagon shape and two handles trimmed in gold. Painting features an allover floral spray w/ leaves and tendrils continuing on 3 sides with colors in lavendar and light blue, also trimmed in gold. The back 3 sides continue with a smaller lavendar spray, leaves and a wandering tendril across the back. The background of entire vase has slight color shading from top to bottom with a light pink down to what looks like a very faint green. T is a very slight glaze to this vase. About 3/4" from top t is a band (also 3/4" wide) around the entire vase which alternates with light blue squares having vertical gold lines w/beads and coffee colored squares with gold rather abstract flowers. This band has more gold beaded edging. Also has a gold top edge with beading and 2 thin gold lines accenting the bottom edge. Quite a lovely piece. T is what looks to be a water line inside from use but no chips or cracks so it must have been well taken care of. It was bought at estate sale so I don't know the exact age but believe Morimura Nippon pieces were made between 1911 and 1921. Any questions, please email.
