I am pleased to give you the opportunity to bid on 7 Early Franciscan "Desert Rose" LARGE SOUP BOWLS, made by Gladding, McBean of California. The piece features the wonderful, early hand painted colors of the pattern "Desert Rose" over the distinctive Gladding, McBean cream/almond colored pottery/stoneware, with their beautiful glossy/bright 1940's/1950's fired glaze finish that everyone tried to copy, but no one could reproduce. PLEASE NOTE: This piece is not to be confused with the later USA pieces or the newer pieces from England. Gladding, McBean started making Franciscan "Desert Rose" in 1941. This Very Early gorgeous piece is signed on the bottom with the trademark that "Franciscan" used to identify their pieces from 1941 to 1947 . The dimensions of the piece are 8 5/8" x 1 1/2". These California made pieces are in mint condition with bright colors, perfect glazing, no visible chips, cracks or signs of wear. This piece comes from a high end Orange County, California Estate of an advanced collector of "Gladding McBean Ware and other California Pottery. This is one of a number of pieces that I am offering this week from the sale. Don't miss them! PAYMENT - MONEY ORDER/CASHIERS CHECK, PAYPAL OR PERSONAL CHECK.
