7 Halcyon Days enamel boxes. Inside all of them on the bottom is written:University of Virginia 1819. Under all of them is written: Lawn Society etc. On the first picture from left to right and up to down: 1 In the cover is written:on October6 1817, in the presence of Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and many another distinguished citizen, was laid the coverstone of this pavilion, etc. 6.2 centimeter [2.44 inches] by 4 centimeter [1.57 inches]. No. 2 in the cover is written :We wish to establish in the upper country a University on a plan so broad and liberal and modern, as to be worth patronizing with the public support, and the temptation to the youth of other stated to come and drink of the cup of knowledge. Thomas Jefferson. This box is alittle higher as the other ones. No. 3 in the cover is written:PAVILJON VI was completed in October 1822. The first occupant was Charles Bonnycastle a bachelor who arrived from England in februari 1825 and soon married Miss Tutt of London County.6.2 centimeter [2.44 inches] by 4 centimeter [1.57 inches]. Well anyway, in all the boxes is something written about the University of Virginia. They are all in mint condition, and come in blue boxes. Three blue boxes have a litte damage [not the enamel boxes itself].Total weight [including the blue boxes] is 1136 gram [36.5 ounces].
