Up for auction: 1970's FENTON 10" TULIP VASE ROSE DESIGN with BUTTERFLY Handpainted by D. Bunner #7255 When the maple leaf decals were used up Fenton started using painters to hand paint designs on their burmese glass. The rose pattern, as seen on this vase, was the first hand painted design used by Fenton. This is your opportunity to own one of the very first hand painted Fenton designs. This hand painted vase also has a butterfly on the lip.In the book 'Fenton Burmese Glass" by Debbie and Randy Coe, they show this vase on page 47 and value this vase at $165.00 ( WITHOUT the butterfly ). T are two reasons for this charge; #1. packaging: When your purchase glass from me you are purchasing superior quality items. To protect your glass I first wrap it in protective material and place it in a box. The box is then stuffed with additional material to help keep the glass from moving around during transport. I then seal the box and place it in a larger box with additional material wrapped around the first box to offer maxium protection. This process adds weight and materials to the postage you are paying. One of my recent customers fell on his box when he slipped on some ice on his front porch. He told me that the item was so well packed that it didn't break. Amazing, considering how delicate and breakable glass gets in the cold weather. The only exception to this packaging process is when I have the original Fenton shipping box available. As of now I have a few Fenton boxes for lamps. Reason 2 for the handling fee is that I live in a very remote area. Not only am I a 30 mile round trip to the post office, but the postal service will not come down my very long driveway. I'm sure you don't want me to leave your purchase next to my mailbox buy the road for anyone to pick up!! So, I have to drive the 30 miles to safely deliver your package, in person to the post office. Thanks for your understanding. METHOD OF PAYMENT: PAYPAL and United States Postal Money orders. No other money orders will be accepted. The highest dollar amount money order the Post Office will issue is $1,000. If you will need to purchase more than one be prepared to show identification (you can thank the Patriot Act and Homeland Security for this).
