For your consideration,A PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED 700K HUDSON THAT LOOKS AND RUNS PERFECT It is all correct down to the original cloth covered wiring, bell, ornamental whistle, etc. It is 1938 to 1942 vintage, as demonstrated by the lubrication screws on the bottom of the frame. Everything functions properly. There are no deteriorating castings or wheels, bulging parts, or warping anywhere. All plated parts are bright and shiny as they should be. The main rods and side rods have the correct satin silver/gray finish. The discoloration of the valve gear in the side shots is glare from the flash. As shown in the close-up, it has proper track clearance at the pilot. The paint is near perfect with no chips, scratches, or dings and is the correct semi-gloss for a later Hudson. It has no run time other than a short test run since restoration, and has been in a display case away from sunlight. The rubber stamping, which looks white in the pictures, is the correct silver. It has been cleaned and lubricated with Labelle teflon oil and grease which will never harden or deteriorate; and tuned up to run perfectly. I have tested it on track, and it runs smoothly with the great sound that only the pre-war die cast whistles make. There is still original gray Lionel primer on the inside of the smokebox door (as shown in the last pic); on the top of the tender frame, and inside the top of the boiler casting (both not visible without disassembly). As shown in the close-up of the ashpan, the ashpan nameplate has never been filled out with builder's name or the date originally built. I believe it to be all original except for the drawbar pin and chain, and the tender coal pile, which are Lionel parts for the 1990 700e.
