Ever since we started listing patches in Jan 2005, we have learned alot about patches, how they're made, etc. #1. Our initial purchase of about 4,000 patches all at one time was from one person who has a wide variety of patches ranging from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Most are extremely thick patches, unique thread, and real nice feel. T are many theories on these patches, such overruns, jacket factory orders, productions from past movies, etc. None of these patches have been worn by active duty personnel. We will call this group #1. #1.5 We also obtained additional patches from this same location which are slightly different than our first pick-up from Jan 2005. None of these patches have been worn by active duty personnel. We call this Group #1.5 #2. Because of the success we had selling unique patches; we went on a country wide search to find more patches. That search took us thousands of miles and lots or time trying to find more lost treasures. During this time we found an old guy name Sam who still has the original shop that his father had when Sam was a child. I saw the picture of the shop when Sam was about 10 years old and the shop was an old military shop and it was full of military articles. It was t for the troops during WWII in Manila . He is still t to date! We call this group #2. #3. Among the search we also found more people in an area outside the gates of w U.S. Air Force Clark Air Base (now Clark Development Corp.) served for many years. T's a special section of town that has at least 50-60 Military type stores that have patches, knives, parachutes, helmets, hats, boots, uniforms, and anything military you can think of. We call this group #3 #4. Also outside of Clark is a few people who still to this date make squadron patches on order to order basis. However, t is one in particular who currently does embroidery work for several commercial airlines and has been t in the same location since the 60's and has done squadron and custom patches for the military base as well as special orders through mail. This vendor can do special orders from customers, I have an agreement with this vendor to keep the sample for me from his customers and we list those as we receive them. We call this group #4 #5. We list nearly 200 different patches on a daily basis, we have so many people who want to sell us items online and our retail store, those acquisitions will be recognized as group #5 #6. Fully hand machine embroidered patches from this specialist who uses quality materials. Although the work is done by hand, it appears as good as computer embroidered. We call this group #6.
