"75 Years with Mickey Silver Proof Medallions" Each Medallion 1.1 Ounce .999 Fine Silver Postal Commemorative Society Mint - New in Box with CofA You are bidding on a complete set of NIB officially authorized by the Walt Disney Company "75 Years with Mickey Silver Proof Medallions" complete set. These medallions were meticulously crafted by the Postal Commemorative Society of .999 fine silver, double-struck from highly-polished dies and silver blanks. The result is a gleaming, mirror-like finish and dramatic frosted sculptures that stand out in high relief. Finally, each medallion is edgemarked with the unique serial number, this complete set-of-six is edgemarked "D885". Each medallioin in the set features a full-color illustration of Mickey as he appeared in one of his classic films... from his gleeful premier as the playful deck hand in Steamboat Willie.... to the Sorcerer's Apprentice... to his dual role in the 1990 retelling of Dickens' The Prince and the Pauper... and three other classic roles. On the back of each medallion, Mickey's beaming face is beautifully revealed against a mirror-like background -- with a splash of glittering stars reflecting his enduring optimism and irresistible charm. These will become heirloom treasures minted to the highest proof-quality standards. Please do not bid on these as ounces of silver bullion to be acquired for current "spot' silver prices. You want six ounces of silver - I've got pounds of the stuff that I will sell for "spot". These are a highly valued Disneyana collectible that just happens to be made from silver. These were only produced during Mickey's 75th anniversary year and the complete set could only be had by subscribing to a one-every-other-month release schedule from the Postal Commemorative Society, it took the complete year of 2003 to acquire the full set. Please note in the pictures below, I have included several pictures of my set plus pictures from the brochure. This is really a beauiful set, and makes a great display piece.
