An amazingly detailed lead Hussar, which I have matched with the uniform of the Queen's Own in 1850. Apologies if this is not correct, but i have tried to track this info down for a while! I am working on this being lead as this is what the base appears to be made of, plus the fact that this weights over a pound (approx 600gms), so it must be a fairly dense metal underneath this exquisite paintwork. I doubt the pictures will do the paintwork and minute detaling the justice they deserve, but this really is an exquisite piece. It is 6 inches high (15.5cms) so it's 1/12 scale I guess? and has the soldier holding a large tankard of frothing beer. The soldier's upper plume is missing - I'm afraid it has been since I have owned it. I have no doubt someone can make a replacement, but that someone is not me! Other than the plume, there are no other faults or issues. I can find no maker mark, nor any other info as to the manufacturer. The base has a green felt underside. Although a beautiful piece it doesn't now fit with any of my collections, so time to go to a home that will see him displayed. For posting, this will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper, bubble wrap and placed in strong box. Overseas bidders please check costs with me prior to bidding.
