Vintage Hudson's Bay Blanket The following information is from the bag flyer: Hudson's Bay "Point" Blankets were originally introduced by the Company for trade with the natives of an undeveloped wilderness. Short indigo lines called "Points" meant price. Thus 3½ "Points" meant 3 large and 1 small beaver skins; 4 "Points" meant 4 beaver skins. Today, "Points" indicate size. Hudson's Bay "Point" Blankets have a special exclusive weave and will never fray. For this reason, t is no satin binding to be renewed periodically, nor is blanket stitching necessary. Hudson's Bay "Point" Blankets can be washed satisfactorily, preferably with pure soap flakes. Use lukewarm water, rinse about 6 times, shake out well and hang to dry, if possible, on a warm, breezy day. Never boil the blankets. "Point" Blankets can also be dry cleaned, if desired. Shipping is available via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation or UPS for $25 in the United States. Canadian buyers welcome, shipping will be $40 via Priority Mail International. Optional insurance is available for an additional fee.
