This is a listing for a rare set of vintage silver bangles made in Poland. They are 800 silver, the Polish standard for sterling, which is slightly less pure than 925 sterling, but still 80% pure silver. It's actually a little stronger than sterling with all the wonderful qualities of good silver. It's hallmarked with the Polish standard for sterling, a figural stamp of a woman wearing a scarf and the number and lettering system that dates it to as early as 1963 and no later than 1986. It's hallmarked on the outside of the bracelet, a common European practice, with the maker's initials that are ORN& possibly a C or an E. This is a rare set of 3 that are held together with a soldered closed rectangular hoop. The bangles are the standard size of 2 and 5/8th inches inside diameter, fitting a small to medium sized wrist with a combined weight of 28.4 grams. The style is modernist with two of the bangles engraved with a linear pattern and the third bracelet covered with an intricate streamlined silver floret. The detail is precise and beautifully executed. These 3 pieces would make perfect companion pieces to all of your modernist silver, especially any Mexican bracelets, since they embrace the same style as the Mexican silversmiths of this era. Thank you for looking.
