Two large shadow-box style frames each containing approximately 18 tassies. The frames measure 18` by 14` by 3/4` tall. The smaller contains six tassies and measures 6 1/2` wide by 7 1/2` long and 1` deep. All good condition. Tassies are named after the Scottish gem engraver James Tassie (1735-1799) known for his exacting replicas of classical cameos. Mass produced replicas of classical cameos were primarily bought as mementos of the Grand Tour.
