NEAR FLAWLESS VENICE BEACH, FL MEGALODON TOOTH:

Venice Beach, FL. is called the "Shark Tooth Capital of the World" but this is very misleading. What you do is walk up and down the beach and stroll along the waters edge and find these little black specs that half resemble a sharks tooth and half resemble a polished rock....most are about the size of half your pinky fingernail. These are all black teeth that are very shiny and again....look more like a polished rock that a sharks tooth.

With that being said, yes, Venice Beach is the Shark Tooth Capital of the world for small little polished lemon sharks teeth that are worthless. BUT for Megs.....your never going to walk along the waters edge and find a tooth like this. It just isn't going to happen. These teeth are NOT laying around on the beach just waiting to be plucked up by your greasy little fingers....or mine.

There is an old river bed a couple hundred yards off the beach that has been known about for decades and pretty much plucked over and over and over again looking for Megs. They even have Megalodon diving tours that go out to this small little strip of old river bottom every weekend for decades. Unfortunately it isn't as easy as dropping off the side of a boat and getting Megs like this one. Otherwise specimens like this would be worthless...which we all know is definitely not the case.

This is a HUGE specimen that is almost impossible to come by in terms of size and quality. Most Venice teeth are Ugly....most do NOT have this nice colored blade. Most are dirty black and beaten to hell.

This is a Gem in the rough.

This megalodon tooth measures 4 9/16 inches in length & 3 3/8 inches in width.

No repair or restoration- all natural!

Near Perfect Bourlette.

Edges have super sharp serrations. If you want to be picky - there are a couple of chipped serrations, but this does not take away from the tooth's value or quality at all.
