I came into this wonderful collection of Shark teeth through a friend of mine, and, honestly, had no idea t was a market for them. After a little research, I was completely astounded. When I first saw them, I wanted to start drilling holes in them to make necklaces. Hey, I skipped a lot of science classes in school. Anyway, I have come to appreciate the value and the beauty of these real gems (literally). I have looked on paleontology sites, and was amazed at the research, and the fact that they are collected, not only by hobbiests and collectors, but by scientists and museums. I grew up "down the shore' in New Jersey, and never even gave a thought to looking for something like this. The closest I came was collecting big clam shells to use as ashtrays, back in my hippy days. Now, alot of these teeth have the serrations that seem to give them value, and others are just long fangs. I think all but one have the root structure. But, they all have beautiful coloring, with all kinds of greens and blues. They are not very big, but they are extremely detailed in their structure. Rather than sell them in small lots, I figured someone out t would love the job of studying and categorizing the whole lot, and maybe finding that one special one (or twenty). I hope the pictures give you a good sense of their size and detail. Good luck to all bidders, read more
