This is a nice old World War II (WW2) era Unit Crest or Distinctive Unit Insignia ( DUI or DI ) for the 99th Field Artillery Battalion . This was one of the Army 75mm Pack howitzer units, as shown by the mule on the shield. Made during the war out of sterling silver, since brass was a rationed war material. Good condition.
