OUTER SPACE ARTIFACT from CHINATektites (from Greek tektos , molten) are natural glass objects, up to a few centimeters in size, which âe" according to most scientists âe" have been formed by the i mpact of large meteorites on Earth's surface. Other scientists disagree, instead stating that tektites are ejecta from Lunar volcanic eruptions. Tektites are among the "driest" rocks, with an average water content of 0.005%. This is very unusual, as most if not all of the craters w tektites may have formed were underwater before impact. Also, partially melted zircons have been discovered inside a handful of tektites. This, along with the water content, suggests that the tektites were formed under phenomenal temperature and pressure not normally found on the surface of the Earth. This tektite is an Indochinites from China , and is part of the Australasian strewnfield. It is âeoetwin linked spherical . . . dumbbellâe in shape , and has the nice pockmarked surface associated with many tektite falls. This highly unusual Tektite is in the classical dumbbell shape as it formed by spinning end over end. This amazing rare form large collector item is 129.7 x 33.3 x 22.1mm (5.11 x 1.31 x 0.87 inches) in size!!.
