HORSE-DRAWN BAKERY WAGON, Tyrone, Pennsylvania , real photo postcard by Holtzinger's Studio of Tyrone, PA, ca. 1909. This outstanding, sharp, detailed real photo postcard shows a bakery wagon with a hand-painted sign advertising THE W. E. HOFFMAN CO. BAKERY . A man holding a wicker bread basket stands in front of the one-horse wagon - possibly W. E. Hoffman himself. The wagon is parked in front of a row of shops. Please see the detail scan, below for a close-up view of the sign on the side of the wagon. A previous owner of this fine postcard has penciled a notation on the reverse side that reads "WM. E. HOFFMAN 1896 TYRONE, PA. DIRECTORY." I have no way of confirming that citation, but given photographer Holtzinger's Studio location in Tyrone, it seems very likely. The photograph is superbly composed and the sharpness and detail are exceptional! Tyrone is in Blair County . Postally unused, divided back, 3 3/8" x 5 3/8". AZO stamp box (points up) dates postcard to 1907-1918. Condition Very good condition with corner wear and a small, light corner bend at lower right. Please e-mail () with questions before placing bid.
