A very clean and attractive pair of officer's percussion pistols by Riviere of 121 Oxford Street, London (1815 -1841)Carey says that Isaac Riviere "made pistols of fine design and workmanship." Riviere spanned the flintlock / percussion era and these pistols date from around 1824 as he patented his locks in 1825.These pistols have sighted 7 ins damascus barrels and are 7 ins overall.The locks and mounts have good quality foliate engraving.they are cased in their original mahogony case with loading mallet, cleaning rod and original key.The original Dixon & Sons flask is in beautiful condition and contains some balls in its base.Pistols in this condition appear rarely on today's market.
