A scarce early London Colt Navy Revolver No 15807 (1853)and having the address Col Colt London on the barrel. The barrel and frame have matching numbers and bear London Proof marks. What lifts this gun is the fact that the grip is stamped Enfield Armoury around a crown and the date '53.This pistol would have almost certainly seen action in the hands of a British Officer. Interestingly this pistol is reported to have been found in a cellar which was broken into when engineers were constructing the Jubilee extension to the London underground system.Plans revealed that the cellar belonged to a house that was destroyed in the Blitz.A scarce historical item. The pistol has been cleaned.
