This beautiful little sparrow beak cream jug was made in London 1747 and is of unusual size and quality. It stands four inches tall and bears a crest on the front of a leaopards head erased with a crown around its neck. It is wonderful to see a cream jug like this with a cast handle. Most have thin wrought ones. The makers mark is distorted but I believe it to be that of James Gould. The jug is in excellent condition with the usual minor wear and scratches one expects of a piece of this period. It is heavy and of good quality, and I am offering it with no reserve.
