I purchased this pump many years ago in the Lake Superior area, near Duluth MN . It was reported to be a spare backup pump for a local Great Lakes Marine Salvage firm in the mid-1920's and 30's. This an authentic original Andrew J. Morse & Sons, Inc. No.2 Air Pump, Serial Number 1875, sold by A.J. Morse & Sons on March 1 st 1922. This pump is in original working order and is complete a pump as you will ever find! The only thing missing is the air hose and hard hat diver. Pump has its original Oak Case in very good original condition, Flywheels with handles, Pressure gauge and brass trim. This pump also comes with some items most Marine Historical Museums do not have, The original crank end protection covers (2) for when the hand flywheels are removed and the pump is in transit. The original T- wrenches and oiling can are still in the built in tool box inside the cabinet! T are even two spare pump valve assemblies with springs and brass air hose fittings. This pump is very heavy and the flywheels weigh 100# each. The pump turns and pumps air. The handles have oak barrels that turn on the shaft with brass spacers. The crank shaft is forged steel. The case is trimmed with heavy brass corners, brass screws and brass handles, latches and fitting. T are four large black iron lifting rings, two on each side. The only minor negative is that the cast iron flywheels each have a single (1) hair line crack as can be seen in the photos, the flywheels are structurally sound and the crack may have accorded w the mouton iron meet during poring and released, stress relieved its self at that joint over the years. High bidder covers all crating, shipping and insurance costs. We will professionally crate at a cost of $200.00 Shipping is offered at national LTL rates with discount to locations with loading docks and material handling equipment to unload.
