A Museum Grade & Very Fine Example Of A Late 1700's To Early 1800's Dutch 'Ladies Leg' Bottle... NOW YOU CAN OWN AN AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE PIECE OF PIRATE LORE!!! The "Real Deal"... This very specific type or style of bottle was in common everyday use, typically used for the transportation and storage of 'spirits' throughout the Caribbean, during the days when Pirates plundered the high seas!!! This bottle, along with the others like it, were salvaged by divers from deep fresh water pits, scattered on several different islands throughout the West Indies!!! Hence it's near flawless condition...!!! The bottle itself is a straight sided example of a 'Ladies Leg' bottle, having a nice, very long thin, slightly crooked neck & an applied 'string ring' top with a defined "V" shape to it. T's a physically sharp edged blow pipe pontil within the shallow 'kick-up'... Lots of "bubbles" in the glass itself with rich deep green coloration & a slightly hazy transparency throughout... A few surface scratches(one of which is rather long), some lines & base wear... Normal for a bottle of this age & none of which are disfiguring!!! Typically these bottles were recycled, many times over, yet this one was definitley "tossed" very early in it's life!!! T are (4) very small visible stains within the neck(see pictures), yet t are no cracks, flecking, or chips... In near flawless condition, showing normal age & little wear for it's vintage. The bottle measures approx. 11 & 1/2 inches overall height , the neck is approx. 7 &1/4inches long with an approx. dia. of 1inch & the base dia. is approx. 3 & 1/4 inches at it's widest point.
