A superb pair of flintlock holster pistols by Newton of Grantham (1770 -1815)Newton is noted as one of the finest provincial gunsmiths of his time and taught Manton.these pistols have 8ins barrels and are 14 ins overall.All the steelwork (barrels and locks retain their original burnished winish and all the engraving is crisp.They are full stocked in walnut with high quality brass mounts.One pistol has an old blemish beside its ramrod tail pipe but this does not detract from the otherwise superb condition of the pair.
